New Generation Midwifery exists to serve the needs of our clients in a holistic manner through a trusting relationship between midwife and client. We base our care on the informed choice of the parent, evidence-based research, and the foundational belief that birth is a normal, physiological event. We follow the midwifery model of care by
Monitoring the physical, psychological, and social well-being of the mother throughout the childbearing cycle.
Providing the mother with individualized education, counseling, and prenatal care, continuous hands-on assistance during labor, delivery, and postpartum support.
Minimizing technological interventions.
Identifying and referring women who require obstetrical attention.

Prenatal Care
1 1/2 hour initial intake appointment
1 hour routine prenatal appointments (monthly until 28 weeks, every other week until 36 weeks, weekly until delivery)
routine maternal vitals (Blood pressure, pulse, urinalysis)
routine fetal vitals (fundal height, fetal heart tones)
routine lab work, including but not limited to OB panel, vitamin D, and GBS screen
referral for ultrasounds as needed
36 week prenatal visit in your home
individualized care including education and informed consents for your and your baby
direct access to your midwife through phone and email
routine screening tests
Labor/Birth & Postpartum
care provided by your midwife and a trained assistant
comprehensive newborn exam, including CCHD and metabolic screening
routine postpartum visits in your home at 24-36 hours and 8 days postpartum
in office postpartum visits at 3 and 6 weeks
optional 3, 6, and 9 month postpartum appts are available for families who feel they would like, or need, the extra support
direct access to your midwife
filing of birth certificate and social security number for your baby
